Silicon Valley Classic
Traditional Karate Championships
January 22, 2000
As guests of Tournament Director Akihiro Omi Sensei in 1997,
DOSHIN observed only enjoyment by the spectators and participants of the
event. Registration was organized and the tournament staff treated everyone
as honored guests. The campus of Mission College provided plenty of parking
(often a problem at some tournaments). The people of Santa Clara and San
Jose were friendly and we had an enjoyable experience!
We look forward to this event every year to speak to our Northern California
clients... unfortunately, this year our schedule will not permit DOSHIN to
attend - so those of you who can make it, please drop us a line and let us know
how it was!
San Jose is home to the Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association - it's always
interesting to see Shotokan Karate-do with an "island flair"!
